We have an exciting vacancy for the position of: Business & Sales Developer (Houten, NL)


As Business & Sales Developer, you are the commercial eyes and ears of the organisation. You will build and maintain a network of (potential) executive clients and you will be able to link their needs to EAGE products and services which allows you to exceed your annual sales target. You will have an active role in developing new products & services within your assigned region to increase B2B sales by meeting the needs of the market. This will allow you to grow the EAGE business in the broadest way possible but with a strong focus on sales development.



What will your day look like?

Your day is strategically planned to optimise the time zones of your region: in the morning, you will send out proposals to (new) clients. After lunch, you will discuss business with your African clients, and to finalise your day you will call with a few clients in the United States and Latin America to plan meetings for your trip to a large industry conference in the region. Working at a well-known brand in the Oil and Gas exploration industry gives you access to companies large and small. You will deal with all levels and decisionmakers, from marketing managers to CEO’s and everything in between.


As the Business & Sales Developer, you will travel multiple times per year. During these trips, you will meet existing clients and expand your network by introducing yourself and EAGE to potential new business. You are part of the Corporate Relations team which is entirely responsible for the four main B2B products / services: Advertising, Exhibition, Sponsoring, and Content Sales.



Your responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow revenue in your assigned region.
  • Work together with the account managers to track commercial activity in your region and intervene when needed.
  • Identify and link the needs of the clients on a global scale on the broadest level possible to increase sales.
  • Develop new profitable products / services to accommodate the clients’ needs.
  • Grow existing accounts & identify and acquire new accounts.
  • Negotiate & execute annual sales contracts with different type of customers, from librarians to exploration VP’s.



Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably commercially oriented.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in events / media sales and proven track record in successful negotiations and closing deals with (global) companies.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong, result-oriented, and a real team worker.
  • Coaching capabilities and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Experienced in working with CRM systems.
  • Key Competences: Independent, Flexible, Persuasive, and Skilled Negotiator.
